MR.K. MICHAELSAMY, BESIDES BEING A LOVING FATHER OF 10 CHILDREN, I REMEMBER HIM AS ONE OF THE GREATEST TEACHERS AT LFHS, KUMBAKONAM AND A GENEROUS SOCIAL REFORMIST. HE WAS AN ONE MAN ARMY IN THE FIGHT AGAINST USE OF TOBACCO. HE ADVOCATED THAT TOBACCO TAKEN IN ANY FORM HARMS NOT ONLY YOURSELF, BUT ALL AROUND YOU ! MAKE YOUR HOME "TOBACCO FREE" AND TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF AND YOUR LOVED ONES !

DEVASTATION OF THANE CYCLONE

Millions of people have been thrown out of gear by this cyclone. Though the loss of human life was less, the economic ills is indeed very grave !. Destruction of living abodes of the poorest, livelihood trees and rice fields etc .The sweet jackfruit trees, the foreign exchange earner cashew plantations were almost totally uprooted in and around Panruti in the Vilupuram Dt . People say that the hard earned efforts for two decades have been wiped out in a day. The Poor have become poorer and the rich have been humbled.

Many Industrial houses in Pondicherry, Cuddalore have been put into great financial difficulties. Even today 7th Jan, 2012 after more than a week after the cyclone, the power has not been restored in full and every one has to depend on Diesel generated power. NGOS which were very active at the time Tsunami are conspicous by their absence. Let all good thinking people join together to alleviate the suffering of our brethren in Pondicherry, Cuddalore and Vilupuram Districts
