FAQ

Packaging is by far the most known aspect of thermoforming.  This versatile process has helped  modernise several industries: Automotive, Medical, Non-Conventional Energy sectors and a long list of others.  Thermoformed parts have become important in two main areas:  Structural and functional parts and low-cost, high performance packaging applications

What is thermoforming process ?
  • A thermoforming process begins with selection of a suitable thermoplastic sheet or film.  This strata is heated so that the plastic sheet becomes highly flexible and stretchable but still retains sufficient strength to withstand gravitational force.  Negative / positive pressure is required to force the sheet conform to the surface of a mould.  The formed sheet must be cooled to become rigid again and finally the excess material around the component must be trimmed off.

What is the mould made of ?

A thermoforming mould is normally made from Aluminium, the metal being quick to heat and equally quick to cool.  Both the above properties augur well for a good forming and aluminium/steel moulds ensure a  high volume of production.   Alternatively, wood, epoxies, stone, other metals are used for mould making.  These alternatives are considered when the volume of production is less.

How does a prototype help thermoforming ?

A fast prototype mould in wood/metal enables the former to produce a sample in 3 dimension for the customer's approval.  This helps the thermoformer to study and make suitable alterations so that when the actual mould is made in costly metal and processes is without any error.

What would be the mould cost ?

The mould cost depends on the complexity of the end product.    Normally charges are based on the metal cost plus machining costs.

What is your Quality Policy ?

To pursue  excellence in all our endeavors namely design, prototyping, mould making, production and deliveries ; further strive for continuous improvement in packaging of  products more effectively at a lesser cost.

What are your plans on cost control ?

Periodical programmes to improve quality in all our operations help us to reduce costs through systematic removal of waste and duplication.  Energy  such as heating and Compressed air sources constitute the major  cost contributing factors.  By regular audits these factors are controlled and ensuing benefits passed on to our corporate clients.

Dear Gabriel

We would like to recall our association with your organization which is more than a decade old.

True to the head line of the website “Right mix of experience and technology in the art of thermoforming"  Arvind polymers had transformed the thermoforming technology with their experience and dedication over the period of years and mastered the art of delivering a good product to the required spec. of the customer.

Yes, as rightly conveyed in the website, all electronic parts and assemblies are sensitive which need to be ideally packed only with anti static PVC films.

We take this opportunity and wish Arvind Polymers all the very best and looking forward to strengthen our association in the coming years.

With best regards

KVK
